The model has also been replicated overseas, with nearly 50,000 more in countries such as China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Brazil and Mexico. Instead of "ladies" they're affectionately known as "Yakult moms" or "aunties" and have the same nurturing and watchful position, with their role in society just as treasured.
